We recommend flying into Chicago O'Hare or Midway Airports. Your flight should arrive on Friday by 4pm and should depart after 7pm on Sunday evening. You may want to visit the VanGalder bus schedule to see how your flights fit in. If you choose to fly into Milwaukee or Madison, WI you are responsible for your own transportation to the camp location. |
|
| |
You must take a VanGalder shuttle bus from the airport to Rockford area. Once at our designated VanGalder bus stop, we will pick you up and bring you to the camp school. We will also return you to the same bus stop for your depature on Sunday. VanGalder Bus Company runs from the Chicago airports up to the Rockford area hourly. You can pre-purchase your round trip bus ticket online prior to your arrival OR you may purchase your ticket once on the bus. Each camp "may" have a different stop, so be sure to pay attention to the information you receive or read on the website as to where the camp bus stop is for each camp. You may want to check VanGalder's Bus schedule as you're making your flight arrangements so that you can make the two work together. |

Audition packets are sent out every day via US Mail. Depending on where you live, we assume the post office will take 4-7 days to deliver to you. |

A lot of our college students have conflicts. We recommend coming to auditions before/after your game. If you are auditioning for the hornline or drumline you can attend the second camp in January to audition for any remaining spots. If you are auditioning for a conductor position you must attend the Thanksgiving weekend as that is the only time we are auditioning for them. By the end of the weekend we will have chosen our conductors. No matter when you audition, you still have to pay the audition fee and sign-up online. Please let us know you will be attending in January by stating so in the comments section. |

You are more than welcome to audition for two sections of the corps, however we need to know that prior to your arrival. Please let us know in the comment section when signing up for auditions what your intentions are. You do not need to pay for two audition fees, just one. Though we recommend concentrating on what you feel is your best instrument. |
|
| |
Hornline and drumline members will have some exercises in the audition packet to work on. Percussionist should refer to the audition packet regarding a prepared solo piece. Color Guard members must audition on flag and in movement. It is not required to have rifle or sabre experience to audition, however the more experience you have is helpful. No section in the corps requires previous drum corps experience, including our conductor positions. Please be aware there is little information in the audition packet about the conductor auditions as we want to see what conducting talent you already have. |
|
| |
Members of the color guard will not have any conflicts since we will only see them in November and then at the camp after WGI Championships. However, for brass and percussion members, you will need to make the commitment to be at all camps for the Regiment. |
|
| |
All members are chosen based on their talent abilities no matter what their age. However, you could run into problems with taking exams early and getting out of high school before the end of the school year. All members are required to move to the Rockford area the third week of May for spring training. If you are graduating from high school arrangements can be made for you to attend your commencement. |

Below is a list of scholarships that we know about:
There are also several other means that we will assist to help offset your member dues. Once a member of the corps, you can partake in our Sponsorship Program. These programs will be explained to the corps in January and can only be used once you accept a position in the corps. Please remember all transportation to and from camps is the sole responsibility of each member and no monies from the Sponsorship Programs can be used to offset transportation.

YES, if you are pre-paying the audition fee! It is very important that you send your picture in ahead of time so that we can print out your auditions forms prior to your arrival. This will make the check in process much smoother and one less thing for you to worry about. Otherwise, you may be stuck in line waiting to have your picture taken and then printed.

After you have paid and registered for auditions, email a current picture of yourself to the Regiment offices here. We will use this picture to print out on your audition worksheets prior to your arrival. Photo MUST meet guidelines as outlined for a passport photo. Read here on how to make a passport quality photo. Look at the bottom of the referenced page to see examples of what we are looking for. The photo is a very important part of the audition as it helps us to remember you. Please send your photo via email (only) as soon as possible.
