- The audition camps are not just a walk-thru audition. You will experience what it's like to be a part of the Phantom Regiment during the weekend. These are overnight camps (two nights exactly) in which housing (gym floor) will be provided. We will also provide breakfast and snack - lunch and dinner will be on your own at local fast food restaurants which we will transport you to, or you can car pool. We will also provide a free Phantom Regiment audition shirt!
- You will be seen, heard, and receive instruction from some of the best instructors in the country. You will also receive a copy of your audition worksheets with feedback from your instructors. This is a great tool for you whether or not you offered a spot in the Regiment. You can use this information to improve your marching and playing abilities.
- Audition fees are listed below. There is a DISCOUNT for by paying on or before November 9, 2008 as this allows us enough time to prepare your audition worksheets prior to your arrival.
- After you have paid and registered for auditions, email a current picture of yourself to the Regiment offices here. We will use this picture to print out on your audition worksheets prior to your arrival. Photo MUST meet guidelines as outlined for a passport photo. Read here on how to make a passport quality photo. Look at the bottom of the referenced page to see examples of what we are looking for. The photo is a very important part of the audition as it helps us to remember you. Please send your photo via email (only) as soon as possible.
- You will need to bring sleeping gear (don't
forget a pillow), shower gear (don't forget
a towel), athletic shoes for marching, shorts and/or
sweatpants for marching (no jeans), mouthpiece or
drumsticks or guard equipment (bring what you can).
Brass players and percussionists should bring their
instruments if possible.
- Camp dates are listed below. All camps are mandatory.
- Membership is generally limited
to the ages between 16 and 21 (must be 21 or younger
on June 1, 2009).
- 2009 membership dues will be finalized soon but will likely be between $2000 to $2500. There are many variable costs that go into the membership dues including: food, transportation; housing; instruction; equipment; insurance; and fuel costs to name a few. This amount only represents about 25% of the actual costs per person that it takes to run our operation. This will be updated once everything has been finalized.
- Videotapes are not accepted in lieu
of coming to camp.
- The color guard will have auditions for both male and female performers (the actual makeup of the guard members has not yet been determined).
- Conductor auditions are open to
everyone, regardless of whether or not the person
has previously marched in the Phantom Regiment. The November camp is the only audition for conductors.
- If for some reason you are unable to make the November audition camp, brass and percussion players may attend the January camp to audition for any remaining open positions. Conductors must audition in November. Guard members should email Rick Subel if they cannot make Dec 5-7 audition camp.
- Member packet & Audition fees are non-refundable.
- View the frequently asked questions.
- Even if you plan on paying the audition fee during check in at the camp, you should still fill out the audition RSVP. Remember - the audition fee will be higher if you pay when you check in at the audition camp.
If you have any questions - feel free to email us.
